James Fund and Spy Kids 2 movie

From Syd: I just got word from an Australian mom who is now facing the final days with her young daughter who is dying of neuroblastoma. She read about James at his www.JamesBirrell.ca website. The appalling situation that she and her family are now in gives me fresh determination to press ahead with the James Fund, and to try and do our bit in finding a cure for this terrible disease. So I hope you don't mind me using the James update mailing list to draw your attention to the following.
Syd

James Birrell had a way of touching the hearts of those who met him or came across his story. Alliance Atlantis, the film distributor, was a company deeply touched by James. Just ten days before eight year old James died of the rare childhood cancer neuroblastoma last December, Alliance Atlantis arranged a private screening for James of the blockbuster movie Lord of the Rings. Through their continuing generosity and with the support of Galaxy Cinemas in Peterborough, a special advanced screening of the movie Spy Kids 2 has been arranged . The original Spy Kids was a big hit last summer. All proceeds from this screening are going to the James Birrell Fund for Neuroblastoma Research. James used to say to his dad "I'm always gonna be fighting cancer." Through the continuing work of the James Fund and the research it is funding, his words stay alive. Please join the Birrell family at this special event.

Details: Spy Kids 2, Galaxy Cinemas, Peterborough Square,Peterborough, Monday August 5th, 6.30pm. Tickets are $15. Complimentary Kiddie Combo.
